We are a backyard gardening project aiming to show how people can live more sustainably in the suburbs. We have had extensive organic gardens including fruit trees. We have been raising chickens for many years and a couple of years ago, added beehives to our operation. Bees are more important that many realize for pollinating our crops. A CSA delivers boxes of food for more than two dozen families at our location and CSA members generally buy our extra eggs. They are beginning to buy our honey and honey comb as well, but we also sell at fairs and other events.
We are producing local honey including comb honey on a small scale in our suburban backyard. We are members of a local beekeeping guild. I expect to sell the honey locally and doubt that we will have enough to move beyond that....but perhaps with the other beekeepers in our county, we could create a store. We do describe our honey at beenatural.org
