Our CSA is now market style! Our market-style CSA doesn’t change the heart of the CSA partnership—it strengthens it.
By paying upfront, members are still directly supporting the farm when it matters most. The difference is how the harvest is distributed. A market-style CSA gives members flexibility and choice, helps reduce food waste, and allows families to select produce they’ll actually use—while still keeping the farm financially stable and sustainable.
This model also helps us grow a healthier farm long-term, so we can continue serving our community for years to come.
A CSA isn’t meant to be a discount produce box—it’s a way for our community to help fund the growing season upfront and share in what the farm produces. The market-style model lets us do that in a way that’s more flexible for families while still staying true to the purpose of a CSA.

Schaefer’s Farm Market is owned and operated by fifth-generation farmers, Tony and Ruth Ann Schaefer, along with two of their daughters, Elizabeth and Sara. The Schaefer family has been farming for generations, raising livestock and grain crops. In 2016, Elizabeth took that legacy in a new direction when she started the farm market, expanding the family’s focus to include specialty crops and fresh, locally grown produce. Together, the Schaefer’s remain dedicated to honest farming, hard work, and providing the very best from their fields to your table.
