The Serving Ourselves Farm is a program of the Boston Public Health Commission. It was founded in 1996 by Mayor Thomas Menino as a vocational training program for homeless individuals at Boston¢¯¿½?¢¢¯¿½?¢ï¿½?¦¾¢s Long Island Shelter. The farm is 2.5 acres, and is located in Boston Harbor on Long Island. It is Certified Organic so the produce is healthy to eat, healthy for the workers to grow and healthy for the land. Our mission is to donate most of our produce to the Long Island Shelter Kitchen where 2,000 meals per day are made each day to feed homeless people. Your participation in our CSA directly supports the vocational program and enables us to continue to provide high quality produce to our city¢¯¿½?¢¢¯¿½?¢ï¿½?¦¾¢s most vulnerable residents
