Shepherd's Wishing Well Teeny Tiny Flock

Family Farm
We started a flock on a whim last spring after doing research about the benefits of fresh eggs. We headed out on a trip to the farm store for only 3 baby chicks, next thing we knew we fell in love with a dozen fuzzballs, 10 little assorted girls and two Rouen Ducks, "Dot" & "Rubber Duckie" that we found out were both boys during the middle of the summer 2011. We added another 17 babies in May 2012 of assorted breeds because we became addicted to the fun the provide. As an experiment with a broody chicken and to provide hopefully some duck eggs Chrissy chicken hatched 5 little ducklings to our flock in early December 2012 which added three very productive duck girlies to our laying flock. We enjoy watching our girls antics in the yard as they hunt for bugs or steal goodies from the garden as the boys keep a close eye out for their safety. They enjoy plenty of chicken feed, scratch grains, greens we grow indoors all year long, table scraps and whatever bugs and greens they find in the yard.
