CSA: SkyRoot Farm

We are currently recruiting for our 2014 Spring/Summer CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)! SkyRoot Farm is a ~3 acre integrated vegetable farm on South Whidbey Island. We would love for you to join us during this summer season for our member supported CSA program. As a member in the CSA you will receive between 8-10 items each week on Tuesday (unless you’re picking up at the farm – in that case you can get your veggies Monday!).

We have 2 pickup points in Seattle: UW campus and Colombia City

We’ll be trying out a few new crops (more rutabagas, celery, mexican sour gherkins) and looking forward to planting even more of the tried and true ones (tomatoes, melons, cucumbers, arugula, kale, turnips).The cost per box for the 15 week season is $26/box ($390 total) before March 25 and $28/box after ($420 total).

Deliveries will start on May 13 (note that early start date – two weeks sooner than last year!) and run until August 19 for session 1. Our Fall Session will run from August 26th to November 25th and will have a separate sign up.

As a CSA member you are making a commitment to the farm - we are growing vegetables for you and we are delighted to do it! That means we definitely want to hear from you if you have ideas for improving your experience. Since we are a small farm we only offer one size box, but if you'd like an every other week pick up you can let us know and we will try to pair you up with another person who is also interested in every other week - then you can coordinate with each other. If you are going to be gone for a week then please have a friend pick up your box - if you can't do that - then let us know and we'll donate it to the food bank.
