The Farmers Market at the Cibolo, every Saturday 8:30a-12:30p For over 20 years, the Cibolo Nature Center has been committed to protecting one of the region's most historic, cultural and natural treasures. The adjacent sixty-two acre land is the home to Herff Farm. The Herff Farm is one of the most historic homesteads in the Boerne area. Built in the early 1880s by pioneer surgeon Dr. Ferndinand Herff, the homestead is in much the same condition as it was when the area was settled. The Cibolo Nature Center began acquisition of the farm in 2007. The purchase of the Herff Farm has enabled the Cibolo Nature Center to expand the scope of our Outdoor Classroom, Nature Camp and Wildlife Management curriculum as well as expand programming to include sustainable living practices, integral to our mission to promote conservation of natural resources through education stewardship. After struggling to acquire the Farm for nearly 15 years, the Cibolo Nature Center has now assured the preservation of this remarkable natural and cultural treasure. In addition to produce and packaged local items, our market will feature food served by local restaurant establishments, entertainment and community organization participation. Every Saturday, from 8:30a-12:30p, starting May 5, 2012.
