African American family farm was awarded to Right Knight Sr. of New Bern, NC in 1866, after the well know Legislator and Union Soldier James W. Bryan abandon the land.
The land is still in operations today, growing corn and other crops. The family is looking to expand the land operations to include farming/housing developments for low income residents.
