Our family has been raising cattle in the Missouri Ozarks for almost 200 years so we have a deep attachment to this land and its preservation. We also understand how to work best with this natural environment while further enriching the native soils and wildlife. The deep, naturally, cold springs and waterways in our area are one of our greatest natural resources and we do everything possible to maintain their purity.

Our large herd of Black Angus and Angus/Hereford crossed cattle have been carefully bred and developed for many generations to not only survive, but thrive on a 100% forage diet. NO GRAIN, EVER! With hundreds of acres of natural grasses and forbs, our cattle eat as the bison did when they once roamed. We believe it's this diverse forage diet that gives our beef its rich, meaty flavor and nutritional value and it's the genetics that we've worked so diligently to develop over the years that creates our tender and very well-marbled beef.

My Brother's Beef believes in a "conception to customer" approach. Every animal that we harvest was first conceived on our farm, raised under our meticulous management and then harvested for our customers. Few farms maintain this control of their beef as breeding and calving cows, and then raising the calves to weaning age is a lot of work, but it's work we believe is necessary to have pure, healthy, grass-fed, grass-finished beef. It's important to know if your farmer has taken these steps with their beef. We will never take any shortcuts!

Our cattle eat no grain, never receive any antibiotics, never eat any GMO's, never receive any hormones and they spend every minute of their lives living in our pastures. Our animals are never confined. They are constantly grazing fresh grass during the growing season and stockpiled grasses during colder weather. We can do this with ample land and rotational grazing. Our cattle are healthy, content and so well-adjusted to their lives that a mere calling of "come on girls" brings them running to us. Very few herds as large as ours have such a program.
