Located just outside of Ft. Valley, in the heart of Middle Georgia, Lane Southern Orchards has been growing peaches and pecans for more than 100 years. The farm that now totals almost 5000 acres was started in 1908 by John David Duke and at that time was known as Diamond Fruit Farm. Lane Southern Orchards also grows 5 acres of you pick or we pick strawberries and has added a new vegetable garden which includes green beans, squash, watermelons, canteloupes, corn, tomatoes, peppers, egg plant and more. We have also planted a new herb garden. During the summer months, visitors can take a guided Farm Tour which includes history of our farm and the process behind producing Georgia's most famous crop, Peaches. After your tour of the orchards you can visit our elevated catwalk and enjoy the final process of how the peaches are prepared for sale in our Retail market and shipped to wholesale customers. Today, with several 4th and 5th generation members of the Lane family still involved, the company continues to grow, having added a sizable farm market, restaurant, bakery and catering divisions to serve our local customers as well as the 300,000 visitors we welcome each year.
