Strong Roots Healthy Farming

Strong Roots Healthy Farming LLC is an urban farm located in the heart of Valley Center Kansas. We believe the health of our family, friends, and community relies on local produce and building a sustainable lifestyle. We grow food naturally. We avoid chemicals at all costs and search for alternative ways of battling the elements - interplanting herbs and flowers, beneficials nematodes, essential oils, worm-casting tea, and greenhouses. The majority of our products are leafy greens such as spinach, kale, mizuna, tatsoi, salanova, arugula, and chard. We also do quite a few root vegetables such as beets, salad turnips, carrots, radishes and although it's not considered a root vegetable, we grow kohlrabi as well. To offer variety to our CSA members during the summer, we also grow tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and squash. The interplanted herbs we offer are cilantro, basil, parsley, thyme, rosemary, oregano, chives, tansey, sweet bay, yarrow, and mint. And last but not least, we do sell microgreens: radish, pea, mustard, kohlrabi, kale, mustard, sunflower, and beets.
