Shop the co-op! The Sugar Beet Food Co-op is a full-service grocery store in Oak Park, Illinois, opened for business in summer 2015. Though it is owned and governed by its owners, the store is open to the public, providing the community with access to fairly priced, nutritious food and programs (through the adjunct, nonprofit Sugar Beet Schoolhouse) that support healthy food choices. Food and non-food products will be locally and sustainably produced to the greatest extent possible with the intention of strengthening the local economy, especially local farmers and food producers. The Co-op is over 1,300 owners strong!
