CSA: Sunshine Silo

Sunshine Silo is excited to be offering market style CSA shared for the 2014 growing season. Your investment in the CSA will help to cover the many expenses incurred on a farm in the spring, and will save YOU and us farmers money at the end of the year. Saved money is saved time and energy. I think most of us can agree that is good.

But how does it work?

During the market season members can exchange their member credit for their choice of produce and products from our farm market stands, at the Wednesday or Saturday markets.

A member's share is worth 10% more than the cost of that share, so a large share would be worth $605 in produce, but would cost you only $550. So for example, a member might purchase 2 quarts of new potatoes one week, but decide the following week they don't want potatoes. And that is fine. Customers are not obligated to purchase any produce they don't want, so waste is minimized. Instead they can use their credit on something they do want like delicious baby salad greens or foraged oyster mushrooms..mmmmm.
