Sydney Acres is a small family farm that currently grows fruit trees, honey, bamboo, potted evergreen trees, vegetable starts, and WA native plants. Our farm is approximately 10 acres, located just east of Warm Beach, WA. The owners of Sydney Acres strongly believe in organic farming and humane agriculture, and are working towards certification as an organic farm. Our plants and honey are currently available at the local master gardeners sales, and by contacting us directly. As our young orchard begins to produce, we plan to have products available through the local food co-ops and farmers markets.
We are in the process of building a henhouse in the middle of a one-acre, predator-proof pasture. Once completed, we will cater to some very happy, humane-certified, truly free-range pastured hens. We plan to use Barnevelders, Buckeyes, Marans, OliveEggers, and Welsummers, so the egg shells will range from very dark brown to light brown to olive green, and the grass and vegetables they eat will make the yolks a beautiful dark orange.
As the farm grows and gets fully fenced, we plan to expand to include humane-certified heritage turkeys, French Freedom Ranger meat chickens, lamb, beef and pork.
