We are a beginning homestead in the town of Bedford. This year, we have several bushels of hickory nuts to offer. They are produced without any pesticides or fertilizers, on a lovely large tree in our back yard. Our home was built in 1932, so I'm thinking it's about a hundred year-old tree. I guess that makes it a heirloom ;). You're welcome to come by, see our tree and our nut collection, and choose what you'd like. We can also do limited local drop-offs to Lynchburg or Roanoke. I can also stuff a priority mail box full for you and ship within the U.S.

Nuts/Seeds:

Naturally grown hickory nuts without pesticides or fertilizers. The nuts are a bit smaller than a walnut, with a thick, hard shell and a taste like a flavorful English walnut. A hammer is what we've used to crack them; there are some good tutorials on the best ways to crack hickory nuts on the internet.
