The Steward Sustainable Farm was established by Colton Melo, a 14-year-old third generation farmer, who is passionate about raising food the old-fashioned way. The farm is located in north central Texas. The farm offers pasture raised poultry and grass-fed beef.
As a steward of the land, The Steward Sustainable Farm strives to connect locally grown food with the community through regenerative methods that are environmentally sustainable. Committed to exceeding industry standards, our chickens are routinely rotated to ensure a fresh, clean environment providing a natural omnivore diet of insects, worms, and grass in addition to locally grown grain. Our beef is grass fed and grass finished.
We are "grass farmers". We use mob grazing methods that allow our cattle to graze nutrient dense grasses for a single day; allowing them to graze, trample, and leave nutrients behind, before being moved to a fresh paddock. The broilers are moved across pasture daily with the same ideology.
We are conscious of the regeneration process: microbes feeding the soil>that feeds the plants>that feeds the animals that spread the urine and manure>that go back to feed the soil and so on...
