If you are truly concerned with animal welfare and appreciate a superior, artisanal meat, then we are the farm for you. Our family is the sixth generation to live on a beautiful 180 acre farm, situated among the rolling fields and forests of southern Virginia. We raise all natural pigs, lambs, goats, turkeys and chickens with an abundance of all the colors nature intended...blue sky, green grass and red dirt. Our livestock breeds are selected for superior meat quality and then allowed to grow slowly, at nature's pace. This allows for the full development of a refined flavor and texture, not found in commercially produced meats. Our Berkshire hogs are certified by AWA, Animal Welfare Approved. This is the only independent, third party organization recognized by the USDA in regards to animal welfare. AWA audits our farm on a yearly basis, ensuring all natural production methods and the utmost humane treatment of our livestock. All of our animals are promised a happy, stress free life. Of course, all finishing animals will eventually become one of the high quality meat products we offer. It is our responsibility to respect and appreciate these animals for that intended purpose. It is that profound respect and gentle treatment, coupled with an all natural, chemical free diet, that results in our superior meats. Every finishing animal is hand raised right here on our farm. There are no hired workers, only our family shares in the daily chores. This ensures a personal touch, with the most sincere depth of dedication. Our farm operates today much as it would have150 years ago. Our old fashioned, slow and meticulous methods instill an artisanal quality in all that we produce. From our farm to your table, we are bridging the culinary gap...one plate at a time.
