We operate an Urban Farm in a low-income, independent senior living community called Pilgrim Terrace Cooperative Homes, where we tend to an aeroponic tower farm, a microgreens farm, and an organic, regenerative soil farm. We incorporate this produce into the 3-course meal program served Mondays-Friday to the residents through our sister nonprofit, Pilgrim Terrace Nonprofit. We work with local nonprofits and restaurants to bring our produce to the Santa Barbara Community, such as Birnam Wood Golf Club. We also output the produce and meals, along with our honey grown from our hives and seedlings, to the people of Santa Barbara through our Community Supported Agriculture Program.
We offer many programs that benefit our community by teaching children how to SOW, GROW, HARVEST, PREPARE, & SHARE. This means teaching kids how to grow and own their food source, care for it, prepare it, and share it with their community at large. Helping to spread the message of health and well-being to communities that suffer from high rates of heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and many other food-related illnesses is a priority of ours. Through education, we believe we can create not only the first generation of healthy and strong adults but also a generation that takes charge of their food source, understanding where the food they put into their bodies comes from and the nutritional value it provides.
Help support us in continuing to grow healthy produce for our seniors and educate children to take control of their food supply.
