Wassaic Community Farm is a small farm project with a mission to address local food justice issues in Dutchess County, NY and in the South Bronx, NY. We are working to provide educational and local food resources for both areas. Social justice groups, community organizations, and local youth play a role in this dynamic. The farm has a quarter acre raised bed garden, greenhouse, and a two acre plot all within walking distance of the Metro North Harlem train line from NYC. We grow over 100 varieties of vegetables and herbs using no-till, organic and permaculture techniques. We participate in four farmers markets: Millerton and Amenia in Dutchess County, and Harvest Home North Central Bronx and Mott Haven in the South Bronx.
