Thomasville and Thomas County has been home to several small, family businesses for generations. For instance, Dillon's Candy Company on US Highway 84 in Boston has been making specialty nut candies since 1918 and offers tours of the candy-making process to groups. Another well-known family farm is Sweet Grass Dairy, a producer of award-winning cow cheeses. Both Dillon's and Sweet Grass Dairy have shops where their products can be sampled and bought.
Thomasville's Georgia State Farmer's Market is the 2nd largest commercial, fresh produce market in the Southeast after Atlanta and the only market to still hold a produce auction! The Farmer's Market is home to a locally-owned produce stand, Lewis Produce, that supplies the area with quality, fresh produce and products year round and is a favorite stop for residents and visitors alike.
Please don't hesitate to call the Thomasville Visitors Center for more information on the businesses mentioned above or to learn about other wonderful products in the Thomasville area!
