We grow native Chesapeake Bay Oysters in the salty waters of the Lower York River, about 1 mile from the location of the last battle of the Revolutionary War. Oyster seed are purchased from a local shellfish hatchery and planted on the farm in June each year. Oysters are grown in off bottom cages for approximately 1-2 years before harvesting. we sell to local restaurants and ship some of our oysters out of state. There are no chemicals, feeds or any other substance used on the oyster farm; they simply filter microscopic algae from the waters of the York River.
Oyster farming is good for the Bay and good for the local economy!
