The Capitol Midweek market was started to improve access to local fruits and vegetables to downtown Topeka employees and to serve as a pleasant walking destination. While the market is primarily produce, we do also offer whole wheat bread, honey, and flowers. This market began in 2006 and continues to grow in popularity. We average approximately 1,800 visitors every week.
The food at this market is far superior to food from the supermarket. It's fresher and cheaper. Sometimes there are samples, like with watermelon or cantaloupe, so you can taste before buying.
