The mission of the Callahan Farmers' Market is to provide healthy, fresh, locally grown produce and other assorted local valued-added food and non-food products to the residents of and visitors to Callahan. The Market will also seek to educated consumers on the social, economic, and environmental benefits of buying locally grown food. It will be supportive of growers and producers, and provide them with a direct-marketing outlet for the sale of their goods, in order to enhance the economic strength and sustainability of local farmers. By providing a community activity and opportunity for social gathering, the market will also generate local pride and enhance the quality of life in the Callahan area. We are proud to partner with the West Nassau Historical Society and The Callahan Train Depot as the location for our Market, beginning October 22, 2011.
