We invite you to invest in local growers right here in Central Illinois who bring you the freshest produce possible. Your purchase will be used to the betterment of your community, with investments in Nutrition Education, Cooking Classes, Mobile Food Van services, Green Job Training, increased fresh food access in food desert areas and nature and farm experiences for all ages. Individuals that cannot afford to purchase a box share can still purchase produce from the SuperMarket Park Hub and other designated stops through their SNAP benefits or could qualify for a donated CSA box subscription. The Tri County Fresh Food Hub is intended to do more than simply provide Fresh Locally Grown Produce to the Tri County area. Embedded in this concept is a commitment to help those who are less fortunate. Box Shares can be purchased by families, individuals, businesses, churches or organizations for the specific purpose of donating box shares and/or subscriptions to families interested in weekly produce without the financial means to afford them. All contributions will be granted a donation letter for personal and or professional tax purposes. Individual, family and corporate donations to this cause are used to support programming to make the Box Share more than just that box of food. Open to anyone, but targeted to those with unique needs, the delivery locations can support basic health screenings, offer recipes for healthy preparation of the foods and support cooking classes for those with special dietary needs, such as low-sodium diets, and those with diabetes, to name a few. A Box Share Sponsor can be directed to a specific individual or family, that you, your family or corporation have in mind as well. This type of sponsorship can be kept confidential or delivered with a special note acknowledging the sponsor. Donated subscriptions allows individuals, employees, organizations and businesses to
  • Become part of a locally improved food system that supports the local grower and brings jobs back to the community
  • Builds a sense of community and improves commitment to the preservation and health of our own environment
  • Most importantly, all produce is sold at a marketable price so that cost doesn't interfere with fresh food access.
  • Profits go back into the program to help offset the cost of programming offered to our regions food desert areas. Buying produce means more than a simple transaction, each purchase is meaningful to the sustainability and promotion of healthy food access to our community in need.
