Tronchetti Farms 2020 Farm Share
This year I’m doing things a little different. Instead of a full 5 month long CSA, I’ll be offering monthly farm shares. Customers can opt in or out of as many shares as they want, but payment is due one month before the start of that month’s farm share to ensure availability. For example if you want an April farm share your payment would be due by March 1st. If you want a June share your payment is due May 1st etc.
The cost of each share will be $80 for customers who want to pick up their shares, or $100 for customers who would like their shares delivered. That is roughly a $20/week retail value, which may be surpassed if there is surplus that week.
The month will be broken up into 4 weeks, with pickup/delivery days every Thursday.
Shares will be delivered in large paper grocery sacks. Each week they will contain a variety of vegetables depending on what is in season. This year they will NOT be customized to save me time, but if there is something you really want extra of, it will be for sale, and possibly discounted for farm share members depending on availability.
Everything is grown at my market garden in town, or our family farm in Dawson Township. I do not certify as organic with the USDA, but I DO NOT use any pesticides or herbicides. All fertility, weed, and pest control is done organically and with sustainable methods. I use no till as much as possible, adding a layer of compost to the beds once or twice a year to ensure fertility, soil microbial health, and weed control. Pest control is done with fleece/mesh/netting, diatomaceous earth, or bacillus thuringiensis as a last resort. If none of those methods work I simply allow the crop to fail and throw it on the compost pile rather than using toxic chemicals.
*I will be taking the month of July off. NO farm shares will be available that month, but I will still have crops for sale. This gives me a much needed break during the hottest part of the year when growing becomes most difficult. It allows me to spend more time with my children doing summer activities like going to the pool.
You can contact me with any questions you have by Facebook, phone, or email. Buy Fresh. Buy Local.
