True & Essential Meats

True & Essential Meats is a USDA-inspected slaughterhouse and meat processor located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. We provide slaughter and processing services to farmers and direct marketers of premium local meats from all over the state. Co-owned by Joel Salatin and Joe Cloud, we understand the goals and needs of the local integrity foods movement. Among other customers, we process all of Polyface Farms' labelled meats. T & E is highly customer-service oriented, and dedicated to providing timely processing services, without the customary months of waiting one frequently experiences at smaller local plants.
