Welcome to Valic Family Farms' LocalHarvest page. Our farm is located in Wayne County which is in Northeast PA. We raise heritage breed animals in a pastured grass fed and organic approach. We naturally grow our vegetables without the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. We are unique in that my wife and I are foodies ourselves so we don't raise animals or produce which isn't at the top of the tasty list! From our flock of Black Java chickens, and our Navajo-Churro sheep,Dexter cattle all of our breeds of animals are critically endangered according to the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy (ALBC). We have young children and we decided to not raise them on fast food or processed foods. We instill in them the truth of where their food is coming from, and we would like to do the same for our patrons. Take hold of your foods and don't let big business dictate what you should eat!
