No we didn't get the place from our grandfather. We are doing this from scratch. This is a 1st generation farm & ranch. Join us and see how it goes. Wade acres is 12 miles west of I-70 on highway 86. We are right at mile marker 47. ***right now we accept visits by appointment only*** We sell pastured beef and chicken eggs and fresh pumpkins in the fall. Some products may not be available year to year or season to season because of elements out of our control such as climate or demand. ***Wade acres is planning a fun pumpkin patch harvest for October so check back for more information PASTURED BEEF - Low-line Angus cattle by the 1/2 or 1/4 We raise our cattle on 160 acres of eastern Colorado rolling plains grassland. They are born and grow up in the pasture. We do suppliment them with herbs, minerals and vitamines to keep them healthy. We do not give them any antibiotics or chemicals. Everything they do is natural. A healthy steer = Great tasting beef Lowline cattle consume about 1/3 the amount of feed as a full-sized animal, gaining weight and finishing earlier with very little cost. They do not need grain to reach full maturity. Where you would normally stock 6 angus cows you can run 10 Lowlines, and you can expect more pounds of meat per acre than with standard size breeds. health-conscious people who like red meat are drawn to the smaller cuts of well-marbled lowline beef, which, as the breeds reputation grows, has begun being served as a gourmet food by some of the worlds leading chefs. Lowline beef offers a high proportion of meat to bone and fat. This is most evident in the amount of chuck that the carcasses produce. Known health benefits: more omega-3 fatty acids, more conjugated linoleic acid (a potent cancer-fighter), less total fat and calories, less omega-6 (linked to several disorders and diseases), and less risk of bacterial contamination due to the higher ph of the cows digestive tract if grass-fed. PRODUCE Pumpkins - fun for cooking or carving PASTURED EGGS Pastured chicken eggs. Our chickens walk around all day and take care of the farm. They get locked up at night for their safety in the hen house. We have many different breeds. Try our eggs. They are the best! Most of the summer the chickens free range on wheat grass. It makes the eggs taste better and more healthy.
