Starting in late summer, we will be bringing our freshly harvested crops to Shagbark Seed & Mill to stone grind fresh flour and process dry beans, spelt, and heirloom corn for our customers. We are offering bulk buying and two CSA shares to ensure we have what is just right for your household. We've just added a special Holiday Share that will let you mix and match our products and buy something for everyone on your shopping list. Shagbark Seed & Mill Co. is the project-to-business centerpiece of ASFC's mission to build a sustainable staple food system in our region. We expect that it will demonstrate how communities everywhere can develop a regional-scale facility. Key to this regional scale model is our work with small-to-mid-sized farms to produce, process, market, and distribute fresh, whole, sustainably-grown staple food products for our region. At Shagbark Seed & Mill Co, our goal is to turn the high-nutrition crops we grow and buy into kitchen-ready products like flour, dry beans, cereal, pancake & waffle mixes, pressed oil, and nut and seed butters. So far, our facility includes a stone mill, a seed cleaner, augers, and heavy duty carts for moving crop.
