'Our Tiny Farm' is a small family farm in Etowah, NC (near Hendersonville). We have grown wholesome food for our family on this farm for over twenty years. Although we used to raise vegetables, garlic, honey, and beef for sale, as of 2023 boarding and raising miniature donkeys is the only commercial farming activity on Our Tiny Farm. (We hope we can add honey again soon (we miss our bees), and add some medicinal herbs and/or mushrooms in the future).

We grow our food as naturally as we can. For our gardens, we use only aged manure, cover crops, compost, natural fertilizers, and organic pest control products (OMRI listed). We do not use synthetic herbicides or pesticides in the gardens. Our animals are pasture raised and fed locally grown hay.

As professional horticulturists and educators who have spent our careers advising others on how to make a living off the land, it is a challenge and a joy to be "practicing what we preach" by generating some income by raising good food and animals and caring for the land. We offer consultations for those considering starting a small homestead, generating some income, and living a similar lifestyle to ours.

UPDATE December 3, 2023. We DO have openings for donkey boarding. Currently we are only doing mini-donkey visits as scheduled fundraisers with local non-profits. There is a good pile of aged donkey manure available, but this year we do not know what herbicides were used to raise the hay the donkeys ate to make that manure. We are happy to discuss this with you and how it might affect certain plants you want to grow.
