Pearly Gates Organic Soapery & Homestead

Family Farm
Were a small family owned and operated organic farm/homestead. We've been farming organically since 1981, while making organic soaps and bath care products since 1985. In 1984 we received an honorable mention in The Robert Rodale's Organic Gardening Magazine contest for our gardens. We also teach a number of old world arts and crafts. We're a local food producer with the KC Food Circle since 2001, CSA Coalition, host farm in the Growing Grower KC program since 2005, have shown our gardens with the Cultivate KC Farms and Gardens Tour, 2007, 2009, 2011, and 2013, and am a SARE grant winner (project titled "Incredible Crop Yields From Small Urban Spaces"). see SARE.org and sell our organic produce and soaps at local markets. We sell 10 week CSA subscriptions for $350, (we call ours CSSA's standing for Community Supported Soaps and agriculture). Each box contains a fair amount of our locally grown organic seasonal produce, organic micro-greens and other Pearly Gates products we make (soaps, balms, body butters; jellies, syrups, herbal seasonings, ect) We grow many specialty and hard to find heirloom and hybrid crops. Some of our crops include; a wide variety of tomatoes, squashes, lettuces, eggplants, okra, sweet potato, potatoes, beans, corn, onions, leeks, cabbages, broccoli, melons, and more.
