Our Red Wattle heritage hogs was chosen for our farm because these hogs are known for gentle, hardiness, foraging activity, and very good growth rate. The sows are excellent mothers, farrow litters of 7-12 piglets, and provide good quantities of milk for their large litters. They have a mild temperament. Their active foraging makes them a good choice for consideration in outdoor or pasture-based swine production. Their gentle nature recommends them to the small-scale, independent producer. Our Red Wattle hogs are pasture and grain fed with no hormones or added antibiotics. Very lean and by some chiefs considered the best pork of the heritage breeds in taste test.
