Green Acres farm was established by my grandparents in 1933. As Japanese immigrants, they grew asian specialty vegetables to sell to restaurant and grocery businesses in Chicago. In 1996, and following my dad's retirement, my husband, Brent, and I took over ownership and transitioned Green Acres to a direct marketing operation. Expanding on the asian vegetable niche, we also grow more that 500 varieties of Certified Naturally Grown heirloom vegetables and fruits. We strive to provide nutrient dense, great tasting food that is safe to eat and promotes biodiversity. --Beth Sakaguchi Eccles
