The Morris Marketplace is a new farmer's market to be held Sundays, June 16 - November 3 from 11am-2pm at SouthFarms on Higbie Road in Morris, CT. SouthFarms is a working farm with a barn on the CT Historic Trust Barn Trail and features grazing cows, sheep and goats. The farm will be a unique site for a farmer's market where customers can buy the freshest locally grown and produced food and goods. The farm hopes to enhance the experience by offering a animal interaction area, having demonstrations and offering hayrides and pick your own pumpkins in the autumn. The Morris Marketplace aims to create a relaxed, yet engaging environment where farmers help other area farmers and local artisans establish a direct connection with their customers while encouraging the local food movement, sustainable agriculture practices, preservation of our area's beautiful farmland, and an increased awareness of better health through good diet. The Morris Marketplace intends to further these initiatives while stimulating the local economy and building a strong culture of community.
