Earthway Primitives Apiary is located in the wild and wonderful mountains of north central West Virginia.

One taste of our pure prize-winning honey and you will know what the buzz is about!

Our delicious honey captures the taste of purity and country living deriving its flavor from nectar foraged during three seasons from the diverse native wildflowers, sweet clovers and woodland floral surrounding our apiary. This variety crafts a unique honey that is highly desired by our local community for its rich flavor and light color.

We presently protect and manage over a dozen colonies in a remote, high mountain region of West Virginia with foraging varieties such as; wild berries, buckwheat, wild roses, varieties of clover and woodland florals. Depending on weather and rainfall, the blooms of foraging sources varies each year as does the color and subtle flavors of our honey.

Bruce builds all our hives and even designs some of our beekeeping equipment. Typically we harvest our honey late June thru early October.

We protect the natural qualities of our liquid honey by natural cold processing simple spun extracting, filtered, set aside for settling, final bits of wax strained out, pure honey is then drained from the bottom of the tank and bottled to maintain the full nutritive value and best natural flavors. Raw Honey is just lightly filtered. When available, our Comb Honey is just harvested, cut and packaged. Pure, Simple and Delicious!

Not only do we harvest our honey, we also filter our beeswax and create all natural beeswax bars, candles, soaps, creams, balms, etc. Cindy is studying to be a Master Herbalist and Earthway Primitives will soon offer wildcrafted herbs along with several products created from our hives into many natural personal care products.
