Clatter Ridge Farm is home to a flock of Shetland Sheep, Tamworth Pigs, a motley assortment of chickens, and two working sheep dogs. The Shetland Sheep are a heritage breed which produces fine wool that is made into yarn, scarves, shawls, rugs, mittens, gloves, hats and socks. The products are available online, on the farm (by appointment only), and at the Hill-Stead Museum Shop in Farmington. The Farm also participates in the Connecticut Blanket Project, contributing wool each year to the all-volunteer effort to produce blankets made entirely of wool from CT sheep producers. The farm also sells lamb, pork, maple syrup, and shiitake mushrooms.
