The Ypsilanti Food Co-op is a non-profit community grocery store in Ypsilanti, Michigan that specializes in sustainable, organic, local and natural foods. It is owned by the members of the Co-op. The Ypsilanti Food Co-op was started in 1975. We also run a bakery which provides fresh organic bread baked in a wood-fired brick oven, as well as granola and sweets. We use mostly Michigan flour and ingredients. Electricity used by the bakery is mostly powered by 60 panels installed on the Co-op roof. Our deli makes grab and go sandwiches, salads, dips and meals to heat at home. We take EBT and Double Up Food Bucks.
Local, organic produce, baked goods, dairy products and bulk food items. Locally handcrafted goods. Essential oils & toiletry products available. Great location. People are extremely friendly. Membership available!
Products and Crops
At YFC's River Street Bakery, we're proud to use organic ingredients (locally grown when available) and sweat equity. We bake bread in small batches -- 40 to 50 loaves at a time -- without having to turn on the gas. Using wood as fuel reduces our energy costs and we pass those savings on to the consumer. Our loaves weigh in at a whopping 28oz. Pound for pound you'll find that River Street Bakery delivers more quality organic bread for your dough.
We are providing curb pickup service at this time: send your shopping list with your name and phone number to: pickup@ypsifoodcoop.org
We'll call you with the amount and arrange a pickup time.
We are open from noon to 7 pm, although given the Covid-19 situation, things are changing regularly, so please check our Facebook and Website.
