Oldmixon Free peach

Ark of Taste Products > Oldmixon Free peach

The Oldmixon Free peach has a long history in the United States. Sir John Oldmixon, the peach's namesake, first planted the variety in New York around 1817. Throughout the 1800s, the Oldmixon Free played a significant role in the American economy. Currently, it is one of the few peach varieties from this era that is still available. The Oldmixon Free peach is a large, round, freestone peach that has white flesh with marbled red streaks. It bursts with a vanilla flavor and a hint of sugary mint. The meat is delicate with a tart finish.
