Sierra Beauty Apple
The Sierra Beauty apple is a late harvest variety maturing from mid-October into November along the coastal valleys of northern California. It has a robust and complex flavor and is an excellent choice for eating out of hand. Thought to be a remnant of the minder's movement during the early days of the California Gold Rush, it was carried for a time by a number of nurseries but then disappeared. The Gowan family discovered it in their Anderson Valley, CA orchard in 1980.
