Hubbard Farm

We are a family operated farm that has been providing produce to Huntersville and the Lake Norman community for over a decade. Our farm has been in operation for over seventy-years, passed down through three generations of farmers. You can find our produce at our business, The Old Store, which is just across the street from the farm. Don't hesitate to come by for a visit to see where your produce comes from!

Why CSA?

* Knowing exactly where your food comes from * Receiving the freshest produce in town * A chance to experience new produce * Bulk produce for canning * No fuss grocery shopping

We have 40 shares available and pickup begins sometime in May depending upon what the weather is like; we don't work with Mother Nature, we seem to work for her and sometimes she's not the best boss in the world.

- Each week we load you down with at least 20 lbs of produce depending upon the weather and how things are coming in-some weeks you will get way over 20 lbs because we much rather give you too much than not enough.

- Unlike most CSAs we are blessed to have a store where we do business with other local farmers, many of them retired people in the community who look forward to dropping off their produce and staying for a visit. By working with other farmers in the area we are able to give our members more variety and make up for weeks that our crops are less than stellar so you never have barren weeks.

- We are not an organic CSA. We do not use that word because occasionally we do have to use some chemicals (however, we get our water from a well and our cows' pond is downhill from the farm so we are very, very careful about what we use) and we don't believe in paying thousands of dollars to use a word to describe what we grow. For more information on Local Vs. Organic please visit: http://simpleorganic.net/local-vs-organic-produce-which-is-better/

- We can nix the variety bags for you and stock you up on one particular item during peek growing; this was great last year for those that make pickles, freeze produce for winter and make their own marinara sauce!

- We aren't your parents so if you don't like certain fruits and veggies we don't force them on you, just let us know if there is something you don't like and we'll give you more of something you do enjoy!

- If you are unable to pickup your share that week (vacation/work/illness) let us know and we can let you get it another day or we can take that share to Angels and Sparrows Soup Kitchen.

- We proudly use reusable grocery bags or produce baskets for our CSA and ask that you bring them back each week-by not using disposable bags we aren't only helping the environment but we're also keeping the costs down!

We will provide you with enough vegetables and fruit to feed a family of four, which is typically twenty pounds of food. If the harvest is abundant that week we will provide you with more to ensure that you are truly getting the best out of the entire experience, just in case mother nature decides to hold back the next week. Additionally, we are using reusable grocery bags to ensure that the entire experience is as green and Earth friendly as possible! You normally receive four huge bags!
