ME Water Buffalo Co. is the only local distributor for water buffalo meat in the state of Maine. We are a family owned & operated farm business in Appleton, Maine. We have a herd of water buffalo which we raise for meat. All of us at ME Water Buffalo Co. strongly believe in raising a natural product, unaltered by chemicals, hormones or additives & therefore our herd is pasture fed with hay & grass. Our water buffalo meat is USDA inspected to ensure a quality product for you, as well as for our own family.

Market season starts again in May 2012. We will be at the Belfast Farmers' Market on Fridays from 9-1, Union Farmers' Market on Fridays from 3-6pm and the Camden Farmers' Market from 9-12 on Saturdays. Hope to see you there.

We sell frozen water buffalo meat wholesale. We sell fresh water buffalo meat by preorder only. We offer our wholesale customers all cuts of water buffalo meat including ground, stew meat, short ribs, steaks as well as roasts. If preordering, wholesale customers can also customize their cuts (thickness, weight, etc.). * We are currently not taking on any NEW wholesale accounts.
