WOW, what a week!! I spent a whole week in Las Vegas touring gardens, attended the International Master Gardener Conference, and went on the Lake Mead Cruise. There were 6 of us. We had a blast! Had breakfast by the pool side, went shopping at the Fashion Mall. The Trade Show was great. Fiskar's gave all of us a free prunning saw. Got a couple signed books from the Lecturer's. The China Town Date Farm was great. I had fresh dates sent to my home. Had a fresh date shake that was awsome!
Now I am back home and the whole week was a snow blizzard;-( I did start seeds though. That gave me a boost. The snow is going fast, this week is to be in the 50's and 60's. Happy Spring to all!
It is very frosty this morning. I have 7 degrees. I am working on getting cold frames built so I can use them in the Fall. My husband is in the process of welding frames to put over the raised beds so I can attach plastic or shade cloth to them when needed. This will be great cause sometimes in the early Summer we get hail. This will help protect the crops too. My first year I grew lettuce, I went out to see if I should pick it yet and decided to wait one more day. That afternoon, a huge hail storm came through and wiped everything out. Fortunatly, it was the best thing for the lettuce, (Leaf type) In two weeks I had the best looking lettuce. It even came back stronger and healthy too.
The Sun is shinning today. Maybe it will be warm up!
This is my first attempt at blogging so, I guess I will get the hang of it as I go. I am so excited, I have got all my seeds in that I ordered. Now I have to wait till Spring gets here. I will start my seeds the first part of April. Not to far away. In March I am attending the International Master Gardner Conference in Las Vegas. I am going with 5 other gals. We have workshops and tours already booked. We will be there a whole week. It will be a blast!!
If anyone replys don't get discouraged I will check in as often as I remember until I get used to blogging;-)
