The good news is we did not have to water this year and have some speciality crops such as swiss chard, okra, pumpkins and peppers. The wet weather has had a negative impact on the tomatoes, late blight, squash-powdery mildew, and rotten vegetables sitting in moist conditions.
Apples are early this year. We have some pie varieties, now.
Late planted lettuce was planted the end of July. I planted beans yesterday, I am continuing to replant vegetables for fall.
I attended a workshop on high tunnels. A high tunnel is a unheated greenhouse. You plant your garden earlier and late summer for late fall crops. If managed right, you get 10 months of vegetables. I would need to expand my customer base and charge more to cover cost of the high tunnel.
