Super Saturday at the Bluegrass Farmers' Market!
I was walking through the Richmond Rd. market last week and I had to smile to myself. I kept thinking about the years when I shopped at a grocery store and purchased onions, potatoes, squash, etc. I had no idea what variety they were and I'll almost guarantee that the produce clerks didn't either...heck, it was a red or white potato! A red, purple, yellow or white onion! And, squash was yellow or green! Boy, am I glad that my farmer friends have educated me to the point where I actually know what potatoes are good for frying, which ones I should mash and I also know that only certain squash work great for grilling. That's the great part of a 100% homegrown/produced farmers market...the farmers actually grew what they are selling and they know about their products...just ask them for advice when trying something new.

I have only received a small bit of information about what will be available at the Mill Pond Shopping Center satellite market this Saturday but what I did get is great! Look for...
Ed to bring his giant elephant ear plants and his wonderful garlic to the satellite market for this one day!
Robert will be permanently joining the new market with his rhubarb, onions, potatoes, squash, peppers and fresh cut flowers!
I am sure you will be able to find much more including corn, tomatoes and green beans.

We'll be set up in the beautiful tree lined parking lot of Pedal the Planet and Fast Signs, right next door to the Glenn Auto Mall on Richmond Rd. It's just a hop, skip and a jump outside of Man 'O War Blvd. Parking is right there so you don't have to drive around hunting for a spot to park. The parking lot is also paved and that makes it very stroller and wheelchair friendly!

We'll be set up in the shopping center with plenty of free parking. Look for us near the corner of Boston Rd. and Man 'O War Blvd.
