Bluegrass Farmers Market

Summer might not officially be here but I can tell you that the Bluegrass Farmers' Market sure looks like it has arrived!

Corn is in at the Richmond Rd. location!

Add that to the tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, squash, zucchini, onions, potatoes, green beans, asparagus, kale, Swiss chard, garlic,cabbage, beets and the summer berries...blueberries, raspberries and blackberries and you have one heck of “it's not quite summer, but it sure looks like it” market!

The Richmond Rd. market will also have plenty of beautiful cut flowers, hanging baskets, herb plants, homemade soaps, fruit and pepper jams, baked goods, honey lip and hand balms, herb seasoning, eggs, mushrooms, beer cheese and a crowd favorite...locust honey!

The Willow Oak location opened last week and from what I hear it was a great success. The farmers and customers alike were very pleased with the turnout. Here's the list of items that I have been told would be available this Saturday...

Emnett Acres:  cabbage, broccoli, snap beans, squash, garlic, live basil
and potatoes.

Rejoicing Acres: tomatoes, kale, beans (both half runners and bush)

Clark Farm: potatoes, assorted peppers, Swiss chard, squash

Caludi's Fields: preserves and blueberries

We'll be set up in the beautiful tree lined parking lot of Pedal the Planet and Fast Signs, right next door to the Glenn Auto Mall on Richmond Rd. It's just a hop, skip and a jump outside of Man 'O War Blvd. Parking is right there so you don't have to drive around hunting for a spot to park. The parking lot is also paved and that makes it very stroller and wheelchair friendly!
