Saturday is our Market Info Day!

So, what the heck is a market info day? It's a day to learn, become informed or get the answers to questions about the market.

10am – 12pm We'll have a representative from the Kentucky State WIC/SrFMNP program to answer all of your questions about the various programs that folks can take advantage of at farmers markets. The Nutrition Service Team Leader for the WIC Program at the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department will also be on hand to answer questions. You might be surprised to find that you might qualify for a sponsored farmers market program.

9am – 1pm Have you ever wanted to can, freeze, dehydrate or preserve items that are only in season for a short time? Imagine being able to enjoy strawberries, asparagus, etc. all winter long. Well, we'll have a gal who will explain the various ways to “put food by” as my granny used to say. She can help you decide what method would be best for your lifestyle.

We'll be set up in the beautiful tree lined parking lot of Pedal the Planet and Fast Signs, right next door to the Glenn Auto Mall on Richmond Rd. It's just a hop, skip and a jump outside of Man 'O War Blvd. Parking is right there so you don't have to drive around hunting for a spot to park. The parking lot is also paved and that makes it very stroller and wheelchair friendly!
