Kudos for a Bluegrass Farmers' Market member!
It's always a joy to be able to spread the news about one of our farmers. A young one too! The Bluegrass Farmers' Market is proud to have Coleman and Callaway Stivers as members. Anyone who shops at our Richmond Rd. location will recognize these two young brothers...they are always smiling! :)
The older brother is very quiet and reserved. The younger brother is jovial and talkative...we affectionately call him “Farmer Bieber” because he is a Justin Bieber lookalike! Very different personalities. They are both welcome additions to our market and our customers know it. BTW, did I mention that they are both teenagers!!!
At the market on Saturday their proud grandfather told me about some recent accomplishments for Coleman.
2nd place in FFA state competition public speaking...his topic “Locavore, to be or not to be!”
2nd place in the FFA regional vegetable production!
1st place in the FFA regional agricultural processing for his honey!
1st place FFA state agricultural entrepreneur!
He was also selected to be one of the Kentucky Governor's Scholars this year!
Coleman is currently the President of the Locust Trace FFA.
For a quiet young man he sure has accomplished a bunch and we are all very proud of him.
While Coleman is participating in the Kentucky Governor's Scholars Program, Callaway will be minding their booth at the market. Come visit him on Saturday at the Richmond Rd. market.
