Bluegrass Farmers Market

I keep telling myself that I sure am glad that I live in Kentucky even though my allergies hate it and the fact that the weather changes in a matter of seconds. I could be living in Montana, South Dakota or Nebraska...they have snow already! EEK! Heck, we are just now starting to see our fall weather crops coming in! That's right, pie pumpkins, winter squash and fall mums will be available this Saturday. The great part is we still have plenty of summer goodies available too! Tomatoes, corn, green beans, eggplant, potatoes, okra, peppers, onions and fresh cut flowers await our shoppers this Saturday! :)

So, here's to you Mother Nature for not including our beautiful Commonwealth in your snow forecast just yet. Our Kentucky Proud farmers appreciate being able to provide their homegrown goodness for the remainder of the 2014 market season...which runs through October 25^th.

Here's what the farmers have let me know about what they will be bringing to the market tomorrow...

RICHMOND RD.

JP FOODS PIMENTO CHEESE will be bringing their wonderful Traditional and Bourbon Smoked Pepper pimento cheeses...ask for a sample, you'll be glad that you did! Think Tailgating!

KELLY'S KOBE BEEF & HERMAN'S HAPPY HOGS are going to continue their special prices on the Wagyu beef patties at $5.00 a pound and the breakfast sausage patties at $3.75 a pound. Get them while you can at this special price!

MCMAINE'S RIVERHAVEN FARM will have the first pie pumpkins of the season! They'll also be bringing winter squash including Kabochas! Don't forget the watermelons and any other great goodie that their garden may produce...surprise is a good thing!

HERB'N RENEWAL will be loaded down with their hand blended herb seasonings and an extra batch of Zucchini, Apple'n Oat Thingies! These folks take the guesswork out of seasoning!

GREEN GARDEN ON COLBY will arrive with tomatoes...red and green, delicious white corn, green beans and potatoes!

OVERMAN'S BG FRUIT & VEGETABLES will be bringing tomatoes, cabbage..red and green, okra, corn, green beans and hard to find honest to gosh homegrown beets!

JANE'S GARDEN, FLOWERS & HERBS will brighten our market with her beautiful and colorful flower bouquets plus fresh cut Basil!

DOUBLE-DIP BEER CHEESE is new to our market and we welcome them! They'll be bringing their Beer Cheese festival “People's Choice” winning original mild, hot and stout mild and hot beer cheese to the market for the first time!

JONES PRODUCE will be arriving loaded down with sweet corn, green beans, peppers, tomatoes, onions and potatoes!

ON TAPP DAIRY will have their great grass finished beef, veal, pork, fresh chicken, and farm fresh eggs!

AZUR RESTAURANT & PATIO

CLARK FARM will be bringing their wonderful tomatoes, white and purple eggplant, green and red okra, sweet potatoes and assorted peppers both sweet and hot!

BELLAIRE BLOOMS will not be at the actual market on Saturday but they will have their fresh cut flowers available at Crave Lexington right there on Beaumont Circle...visit them after shopping at the market!

And, who knows what other surprises you might find at either market!

We'll be set up in the parking lot of our sponsors, Pedal the Planet and Fast Signs. It's just a hop, skip and a jump outside of Man 'O War Blvd. Parking is right there so you don't have to drive around hunting for a spot to park. The parking lot is also paved and that makes it very stroller and wheelchair friendly! And, we love seeing your four-legged friends!

Our farmers will be set up in the parking lot and possibly the patio of AZUR Restaurant & Patio. Beaumont Centre is just outside new Circle Rd. off of Harrodsburg Rd.

PARKING IS ALWAYS FREE AT BOTH MARKETS!!!
