Bluegrass Farmers Market

Sunday is that special day to celebrate that special lady in your life...mom! That special lady can be the mother of your children, grandmother or great grandmother, step mom, mother-in-law or the lady who gave birth to you...they are all extra special on Sunday! So, why not treat them to something special. Start the weekend out with a visit to the Bluegrass Farmers' Marketand pick up some farm fresh eggs, nitrate free ham, spring onions and wonderful cheese for a breakfast omelet on her special day! Then give her a real treat by purchasing some of the beautiful flowering or vegetable plants and actually planting them for her! Next comes a fantastic evening meal which you get to prepare for that special lady! Think Kobe steak perfectly seasoned with an herb blend, fresh asparagus or maybe a crisp salad as a side. Don't forget dessert!!! Plenty of freshly baked deliciousness will be available! And, if you happen to be shopping at our newest market location in the parking lot of Liquor Barn in Hamburg...why not get some wine while you are there! Or, if you shop at our Azur Restaurant & Patio location...think about making reservations for a Sunday dinner! Sunday is her day...make her feel extra special on Mother's Day!

LIQUOR BARN HAMBURG

McMaine's Riverhaven Farm will be bring their farm fresh spring asparagus, Salanova lettuce, spring onions, arugula, pepper jams, jellies, baked goods, bean soup mix and good for you red Russian kale! The pumpkin cookies are great!

Tomatoes, Etc. will be bringing their wonderful heirloom tomato and pepper transplants and packages of Egyptian Walking Onion sets! One more thing that always brings smiles to faces, young and old...the Red Robin Tomato plants that Roger gives to youngsters, with written parental directions. This is to encourage them to become lifelong gardeners! Yes, he'll have some available tomorrow and yes, he does give them away!

Herb'n Renewal will be on hand with their various herb blends! All of them are preservative free and contain no MSG and each one is hand blended in the commercial kitchen on the farm! Look for their handcrafted soaps and plenty more Zucchini, Apple'n Oat Thingies...a crowd favorite!

Heavenly Homestead Cheese will be returning tomorrow and the great news is they will be bringing 9 varieties of cheeses including some new cheeses for them, provolone, asiago, windsor, and zagora. The last two are unique to their farm! They loved meeting everyone last week!

Kelly's Kobe Beef and Herman's Happy Hogs will have Kobe beef boneless ribeyes, N.Y. Steaks, sirloin steaks, chuck steaks, round steaks, burger patties and ground beef! And the steaks are aged 28 days before being hand cut! Don't forget the wonderful pork chops, country style ribs, spare ribs, and sausage! All of these products are born, raised ,and harvested on their farm. They are all U.S.D.A. Inspected, FREE of Antibiotics,Steroids or Growth Stimulants!

Pennington Farm & Garden flowers, herbs, tomato plants, lettuce, and of course since Sunday is Mothers Day, they will have lots of pretty hanging pots too!

And, as a special treat, “Your Squeeze Box Troubadour” will be on hand to entertain us all...young and old!

AZUR RESTAURANT & PATIO

Emnett Acres Farm will be bringing their freshly harvested green onions, black eyed susan flower sets, canna lily roots, sweet basil and tomato plants and fresh baked pumpkin nut bread!

Remember, there are always surprises and you never know who else might show up at either market location!
