We have begun to mix our strting medium and planted the first seeds in our germination room.    This is an exciting time every year.    You can literally watch a night's work poke through the soil mix in about 7 days.

What is started are the most cold tolerant young plants.    They get transplanted when the frosts are nearly over, then they are covered with plastic in low tunnels to prevent frost damage and promote growth despite the weather.
