Meet the newest member of our farm: "Outstanding Dreams Go With The Flo"

We are pleased to introduce the newest member of our herd, Outstanding Dreams Go With The Flo! Named after Hurricane Florence, Flo was born early Thursday morning just as the storm was preparing to make landfall. flo3ODF.jpg Flo is the kind of cria we all hope for as she was already up walking around and trying to nurse when I came out to the barn. Big, strong, healthy, and stunning she's sure to take the world by storm! She is the second of our McCoy's crias to be born, and the sixth of his offspring to hit the ground. We're ecstatic with what he's producing so far as his first six offspring have all been female, and quite nice ones at that! We're especially pleased that he's throwing dark colored offspring as this is the mainstay of our breeding program. 3criasseptODFs.jpg Cria season is in full swing here with three on the ground and four more expected. Be sure to keep an eye out for our next birth announcement! Sincerely, Phil & Vickie Liske Outstanding Dreams Farm 24480 Pinetown Road Preston, MD 21655

Celebrating Ten Years | Our First Alpaca "Outstanding Omen"

Join us as we celebrate our ten year anniversary this month! Throughout the month of October, we will be sharing stories of our journey in the alpaca business over the last ten years as well as keeping you updated on current events and our visions and goals for the future. Pictured here is our very first alpaca, Outstanding Omen, still with us, though we don't use her in our breeding program any more. day1.jpg We remember well the day we purchased her, along with another female with a cria at side. After researching alpacas for over a year and finally deciding we did want to enter the business,we attended our first alpaca auction as a "Learning experience" with no intention of buying anything. We visited with several of the breeders offering alpacas for sale and then the auction began. Prices were much lower than what we had seen elsewhere and at the urging of a wonderful local breeder we had met, Loris Blandford? who offered to keep our alpacas at her farm until our pastures were ready,we put our hand up and were the winning bidder on Outstanding Omen! Oh my God, what have we done? we thought. We understood that "You can't have just one", so we purchased another female with a four month old cria at side. Suddenly, we were in the alpaca business! The rest, as they say is History. We will continue to share our story throughout the month, so please stay tuned and enjoy the ride down Memory Lane. Outstanding Dreams Farm is located in Caroline County on Maryland's eastern shore, just a short distance from many of the area's best dining experiences, cultural attractions, historical sites and charming small towns. Our visitors love coming out here for tours, shopping at our farm store and of course to meet and greet the alpacas! 9th Annual Fall Alpaca Festival in Preston, Maryland

Mark your calendars and make plans to join us as we celebrate our Annual Fall Alpaca Festival in September! This family-friendly event will take place for the 9th year on Saturday, September 16th from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm, and on Sunday, September 17th from noon - 4:00 pm. The farm, located on Maryland's beautiful eastern shore in Preston, will host arts and craft booths, fiber art demonstrations, food vendors, children's activities and live music as well as a unique shopping experience at our Farm Store. The festival offers visitors a chance to take a tour of the farm, meet our lovable alpacas and learn more about these wonderful animals. As one of Caroline County's favorite farm tour destinations, we welcome hundreds of guests each year from all across the Delmarva Delmarva Peninsula as well as the surrounding states and nearby cities. Why are alpaca products different and enjoyed by so many? The fleece is a luxurious, soft and durable fiber that is renowned for it’s hypoallergenic qualities. This makes it an excellent choice for those irritated by other materials, and the warmth and softness of the fleece ensures comfort that our customers return for over and over again. Don't miss the wide array of fiber products made from our own animals and available in the Farm Store, such as scarves, clothing, hats, children’s toys, jewelry, raw fiber and more. Admission to the festival is free, and donations are gratefully appreciated. For more information please contact us at (410) 673-2002 and visit us online at the links below. We look forward to celebrating our 9th Fall Festival with you!

What makes Outstanding Dreams Farm a popular destination? Our visitors enjoy learning about the farm, how we operate and care for the alpacas. Along with information and educational facts, we provide a chance to go out into the fields, meet and touch the friendly animals and see and feel their luxurious fiber. Don't forget your camera! One of the truly unique aspects of a visit to our farm is the Farm Store, which offers a wide variety of fiber products including a large selection of our own yarns. Items made from alpaca fiber range from plush toys and sweaters to socks and rugs, providing guests with a very different opportunity for shopping. The scenic grounds and pastures of the farm allow wonderful photo opportunities and plenty of space for parking and we have hosted groups such as vintage car clubs, motorcycle tours, garden clubs, agricultural students and many other parties as well.
